Qamea and the surrounding islands offer a wide range of activities
and adventures:
 |
| Fiji Tours - Bouma Falls on Taveuni Island |
BOUMA WATERFALLS - Enjoy
the thrill of exploring this pristine Heritage Park. Here
you can swim under three spectacular waterfalls cascading
through lush rainforest. The trail to the first waterfall
is relatively flat and is adjacent to a scenic river enshrouded
with tropical foliage and flowers. The journey to the next
two waterfalls will take you on a moderate climb of 100 feet
(with stairs and railings where needed). Swimming in the tropical
pools under all of the waterfalls is a pleasure enjoyed by
all. Qamea's activities coordinator will happily provide you with
a picnic lunch and a guide should you desire.
LAVENA NATURE WALK - Take
an all day adventure walk at the filming location of the second
Blue Lagoon movie. This guided walk will take you along a
white sandy beach with views onto beautiful rock pools. Qamea's guide
will take you across two rivers and pass through remote villages
before ascending a river valley past two beautiful waterfalls.
If you are feeling particularly adventurous, you can slide
down the water chute or jump into the rock pools from the
high walls.
INTERNATIONAL DATELINE & NA I
VAKA NATURAL WATERFALL SLIDE TOUR - Each new day begins
on the Island of Taveuni. The International Dateline (180
degree meridian) is one of the few places on land in the world
where you can have one foot in each day. This is a full day
tour where you will be transported by private vehicle and
guided by your driver. Along the way your driver will stop at
a trail for an easy hike through a jungle of fragrant ginger
plants which ends at the beautiful Na i vaka waterslide. This
is a natural waterslide that will make you feel as if you
are in the movie "Jungle Book" - amazing fun!
CIRCLE QAMEA ISLAND TOUR
- Qamea is Fiji's 12th largest island, and its most beautiful.
As there are no roads on Qamea, the best and only practical
way to take in all of its beauty is by way of a full day boat
tour. The trip around Qamea Island leaves the resort at around
11:00 am and returns at about 5:00PM. Along the way there
will be several stops to view local attractions, snorkelling,
and a picnic lunch on Lagalaga Island (sometimes known as
Fantasy Island by many guests), which is a beautiful, albeit
tiny, uninhabited island just off shore from Qamea Island.
BOAT TRIPS TO NANUKA ATOLL
- Nanuka Atoll is an incredibly beautiful and privately owned
island atoll about a 2.5 hour boat ride from Qamea. It is
one of just a few true atolls in all of Fiji. Surrounded by
brilliant white sand beaches and lagoons, you will likely
see sea turtles resting on the beach and dolphins playing
just outside the reef. Given the distance to Nanuka Atoll,
visits are only possible during perfect sea conditions.
